# Testnet

> Why is Based in Testnet?

Based is currently in Testnet because:

* We maintain it likely that the user interfaces or backend systems processing data may contain unknown bugs
* We are aware of performance issues in certain regions and through combinations of end user technologies used
* We are testing various parameter settings and funding mechanisms in parallel on production posts to inform future parameterisation choices
* We have not deployed all production features, such as post creation
* We are actively conducting usability testing
* We apply additional incentives and expect our users to provide feedback and bug reports
